We planned a building that would feel like a lively drinking district, with a collection of restaurants and bars that have a particular focus, right by the Shinsen Station, which is known as the back of Shibuya, a place with a different atmosphere to the young crowd of Shibuya, and with many unique shops that give off an air of sophistication.
The terrace allows you to enjoy a leisurely brunch in the warm sunlight or delicious food and drinks in the cool evening breeze. This terrace is covered with a large balcony-like overhang made of smoked wood, which encircles the building. In Japanese restaurants and cafes, wood is often used for tableware and plates that enhance the food, as well as for pottery, and wood is also used extensively in restaurant interiors to create an atmosphere that makes the food look delicious. In this building, we proposed the use of these WOOD RINGS to create an atmosphere of deliciousness throughout the building. The eaves of the ceiling of these rings are lit up, creating a three-dimensional sense of bustle that draws the attention of passers-by and entices them to go upstairs.
